2023 Vancouver Hong Kong Fair 溫哥華香港人市集: A Place to Relive Memories 重拾舊日回憶嘅地方 is a promotional video that was created for HK House, a non-profit organization based in Vancouver for Hong Kongers and their allies.

The annual Vancouver Hong Kong Fair is the largest Hong Konger cultural celebration in North America, and the first of its kind. Follow along to get a glimpse into the 2023 version of the Fair, and learn more about the people involved in making the Fair a success.

Becoming Queer Joy is a short documentary co-created with Leo Litke. Featuring Tien Neo Eamas, Vancouver’s first Asian trans man to publicly transition, the short emphasizes the life-saving power of queer joy.

The short was created as a part of Reel Youth’s Troublemakers 7.0 program, and was created with the assistance of Storyhive, Out In Schools, SFU Woodward’s, and Love Intersections.

nothing (everything) is a solo short animation that provides a visualization of an overactive mind through a first-person perspective. The short was created as the final project for VISA255: 2D Animation at the University of British Columbia (Okanagan campus).

Adobe After Effects, Adobe Premiere Pro, Procreate, and Audacity were used to complete the project.

there are no strings on me is a short film that makes use of both live action and stop motion filmmaking techniques. It provides a reinterpretation of Pinocchio’s story and was created as an assignment for VISA106: Introduction to Digital Media at the University of British Columbia (Okanagan campus).

Dragonframe was used for the stop motion elements, and Adobe Premiere Pro was used to edit the final film.

cha chaan teng is a short animation that acts as a love letter to Hong Kong-style cafe culture. This animation was created as an assignment for VISA106: Introduction to Digital Media at the University of British Columbia (Okanagan campus).

The animation was created entirely by Ronnie Cheng.

Adobe Illustrator and Adobe After Effects were used to complete the short.

accidental friends is a short animation that tells the story of a Doordash order that was delivered to the wrong door. This animation was created as an assignment for VISA108: Introduction to Digital Media II at the University of British Columbia (Okanagan campus).

The project was created entirely by Ronnie Cheng.

Autodesk Maya and Adobe Premiere Pro were used to complete accidental friends.

i just want peace and quiet is a 6-shot short film that tells the story of a person named Jane who struggles with intrusive thoughts and an unkind mind.

This film was the final project for MFJS3215: Intro to Field Production and Editing at the University of Denver. Ronnie Cheng was the writer, director, cinematographer and editor; Madalyne Heiken played Jane.

Adobe Premiere Pro was used to edit i just want peace and quiet.
